Two sailors from the Algarve, both athletes of the Clube Naval de Portimão, ar representing Portugal at the Miami leg of the ISAF World Cup (International Sailing Federation World Cup) from January 26th to 31st. Martin Anderson, Portuguese national Laser Radial champion, and Santiago Sampaio, national junior champion, are in the group of 4 elements of the Portuguese national team that will compete in the Laser class.
Martin Anderson won the Portuguese national title in April last year at the XXV Portugal Absolute and Junior Championship held in Tavira, Algarve. Santiago Sampaio has won the junior championship title at the same event and finished 3rd place Absolute.
The north-american leg of the ISAF World Cup began today, Monday, January 26th, with the participation of over 800 athletes, representing 63 countries. The Portuguese national team will compete in the 49er, Laser and 470 male.
