Yolanda Sequeira-Hopkins foi vice-campeã feminino na 1ª Etapa do Circuito Rip Curl 204 powered by Peniche Surfing Clube. A prova foi disputada durante este fim-de-semana por 97 atletas de várias zonas do Pais nas categorias Surf Open, Surf Sub-16, Surf Sub-14, Surf Sub-12, Surf Feminino, Bodyboard Open, Bodyboard Feminino, Longboard e SUP Wave.
A surfista algarvia, atleta do Clube Naval de Portimão treinada pela Future Surfing School (Praia da Rocha), só entrou em acção hoje, domingo, quando teve início a competição Surf Feminino a partir das meias-finais. Yolanda Sequeira-Hopkins venceu a primeira meia-final feminina, com Sofia Oliveira a passar em segundo. Na final, Yolanda travou um intenso duelo com Beatriz Almeida, a campeã em título da categoria neste circuito, que venceu a outra meia-final feminina.
Yolanda Sequeira começou a final da melhor maneira, com uma onda de 7.67 pontos. Mas Beatriz Almeida respondeu de forma consistente com 5.67; 6.33 e 7.33. Yolanda fez a melhor onda da final mas não conseguiu uma segunda boa nota e terminou a prova na segunda posição Surf Feminino.

Surfer from the Algarve Yolanda Hopkins finished Girls Champion Runner Up in Event 1 of the Rip Curl 2014 Circuit powered by Peniche Surfing Clube. The event was held this weekend and the surfer from the Algarve, representing the ‘Clube Naval de Portimão’, won her semi-final and made the best wave in the final. Yolanda couldn’t score a good second wave and lost the final to the girls champion of the circuit 2013.
