João Pinheiro foi eliminado nos ‘trials’ e não se apurou para o quadro principal do Arica Chilean Challenge, 3ª Etapa do circuito mundial de bodyboard IBA World Tour, que decorre até 26 de Maio, no Chile. “Não competi bem e acabei por perder”, admitiu o surfista da Associação de Bodyboard de Sagres, que ainda assim deixou a sua marca no ‘Gringo’ de Arica ao realizar um ‘invert’ incluído pela organização no vídeo dos ‘highlights’ do 3º dia da fase de qualificação.

João Pinheiro perdeu na Ronda 5 dos ‘trials’, sobretudo, por não ter conseguido finalizar uma manobra que poderia ter alterado o desfecho. “Não estou a atravessar a melhor fase nem a conseguir mostrar todo o meu surf neste meu primeiro ano no tour”, reconheceu o atleta algarvio, que poderá estar a ser vítima de alguma ansiedade.
Ao concluir anteontem a sua participação no Arica Chilean Challenge, João Pinheiro continuou a treinar no local, antes de viajar para Sul, para o Antofagasta Bodyboard Pro, 1ª Etapa do circuito GQS (Global Qualifying Series), a 2ª Divisão do IBA World Tour.

JOÃO PINHEIRO OUT IN THE TRIALS
João Pinheiro was eliminated in the ‘trails’ and didn’t manage to qualify to the main event in the Arica Chilean Challenge, Event 3 of the IBA World Tour, which is being held in Chile until 26th May. “I lost because I didn’t compete as I should”, admitted the surfer from the Algarve, representing ‘Associação de Bodyboard de Sagres’. Still he left his mark on ‘El Gringo’ with an ‘invert’ selected to the highlights official video for the 3rd day of the ‘trials’.
João Pinheiro lost in Round 5 of the ‘trials’ having failed to complete a maneuver which could have changed de outcome. “I am not in a good moment and I have not been yet able to show all my surf in my first year on the tour”, confessed the surfer from the Algarve, probably being victim of some anxiety.
After finishing his participation in the Arica Chilean Challeng in de day before yesterday, João Pinheiro stayed on the spot, training before traveling south, to compete in the Antofogasta Bodyboard Pro, Event 1 of the GQS circuit (Global Qualifying Series), Division 2 of the IBA World Tour, from 28th of May to the 2th of June.
