CAMPEONATO DE STAND UP PADDLE EM FARO

Estão abertas as inscrições para o campeonato Stand Up Paddle Algarve 2013, Powered by Windsurfpoint, que vai decorrer na Praia de Faro, no dia 18 de Maio. A prova é organizada pelo Centro Náutico da Câmara Municipal de Faro e pelo Portal de desportos de ondas Conquilha, com o apoio do Clube de Surf de Faro e um ‘prize money’ de 150 Euros.
O campeonato de 18 de Maio reedita a prova pioneira de Stand Up Paddle realizada na mesma praia, na Primavera de 2012. Este ano, a prova vai ser disputada em duas modalidades – ‘race’ e ‘wave’. A primeira decorre durante a manhã, nas águas interiores a Ria Formosa. A modalidade ‘wave’ é disputada na parte da tarde, na costa atlântica… na margem sul da ilha.
A organização espera juntar nesta prova os melhores praticantes ibéricos de Stand Up Paddle, uma vertente do surf que tem vindo a registar um aumento significativo de praticantes. As inscrições estão abertas e podem ser efectuadas na Internet, em www.conquilha.com.
É ainda possível solicitar um ‘baptismo’ de STU, bastando para isso inscrever-se pelo endereço electrónico centronauticofaro@cm-faro.pt, pelo telefone 289 870 898, ou no próprio local, no dia da prova.

STAND UP PADDLE EVENT IN FARO
Registrations are now open for the event Stand Up Paddle Algarve 2013 Powered by Windsurfpoint, which will be held in Praia de Faro, on the 18th of May. The event is organized by the Nautical Center of the Municipality of Faro and the wave sports webpage Conquilha, with the support of the ‘Clube de Surf de Faro’ and a ‘prize money’ of 150 Euros.
The May 18 championship reissues the pioneer event of Stand Up Paddle held on the same beach, in the spring of 2012. This year’s event will be played in two modes – ‘race’ and ‘wave’. The first takes place during the morning, in inland waters of the Ria Formosa. The modality ‘wave’ is played in the afternoon, on the Atlantic coast … on the south shore of the island.
The organization hopes to join in this event the best Iberian practitioners of Stand Up Paddle, a surfing variation that has been experiencing a significant increase of practitioners. Registration is open and can be made on the Internet in www.conquilha.com.
