Vela – Três fins-de-semana em Fevereiro
VILAMOURA RECEBE QUATRO PROVAS
Todos as rotas da vela no Algarve vão dar a Vilamoura durante o mês de Fevereiro. O Clube Internacional da Marina de Vilamoura (CIMAV) organiza quatro provas em três fins-de-semana consecutivos, começando já no próximo sábado e domingo, dias 2 e 3, com a 2ª Prova de Apuramento Regional 2012-2013 para a classe Optimist.
Estas provas de apuramento regional (PAR) no Algarve vão definir o Ranking Regional Sul que apura os velejadores para os Campeonatos de Portugal de Juvenis e de Infantis, ambos na classe Optimist. O apuramento é feito em três provas: a primeira decorreu em Novembro passado, em Faro; a segunda decorre agora em Vilamoura e a terceira está marcada para os dias 2 e 3 de Março, em Tavira.
O Campeonato de Portugal de Juvenis (Optimist) vai acontecer em Março, entre os dias 20 a 24, em Viana do Castelo. O Campeonato de Portugal de Infantis (Optimist) vai ser disputado na Figueira da Foz, de 6 a 8 de Setembro. Os campeonatos são organizados pela Federação Portuguesa de Vela. Recorde-se que os campeões nacionais em título na classe Optimist são algarvios: Tiago Serra (juvenis – Clube de Vela de Lagos), Manuel Fortunato (infantis masculinos – Clube de Vela de Lagos) e Beatriz Gago (infantis femninos – Clube Naval de Portimão).
Depois da 2ª PAR, o CIMAV organiza no fim-de-semana seguinte, entre os dias 9 e 11, o 39º Torneio Internacional de Vela do Carnaval em Vela Ligeira. Uma prova à qual Federação Portuguesa de Vela juntou o Campeonato de Portugal de Classes Olímpicas. Um fim-de-semana de autêntico luxo de vela em Vilamoura. A prova integra ainda a 1ª Etapa do Campeonato Nacional de Formula Windsurfing, no qual Miguel Martinho, do Clube Naval de Portimão, defende o título.
No terceiro fim-de-semana de Fevereiro, dias 16 e 17, o CIMAV organiza a Vilamoura Cup, na classe Cruzeiro, embarcações acima dos seis metros, capazes de desafiar o horizonte.

Sailing – Three week-ends in February
FOUR RACES IN VILAMOURA
All sailing routes in Algarve converge to Vilamoura in February. Clube Internacional da Marina de Vilamoura (CIMAV) organizes four races in three consecutive weekends, starting next Saturday and Sunday, February 2 and 3, with the 2nd Regional Qualifiers 2012-2013 for Optimist class.
This regional qualifiers (PAR) in the Algarve will define the South Regional Ranking for boaters selected to the Portuguese Championships in the age groups Juvenis and Infantis, both Optimist class. The selection/ranking is done in three events: the first was held last November in Faro, the second follows now in Vilamoura and the third is scheduled for the 2nd and 3rd of March in Tavira.
The Juveniles/Juvenis Portuguese Championship (Optimist) will happen in March, between days 20-24, in Viana do Castelo. The Infants/Infantis Portuguese Championship (Optimist) will take place in Figueira da Foz, 6-8 September. The national championships are organized by Federação Portuguesa de Vela (Portuguese Sailing Federation). Remember that the national champions 2012 in the Optimist class are from the Algarve: Tiago Serra (juveniles – representing Clube de Vela de Lagos), Manuel Fortunato (infants boys – Clube de Vela de Lagos) and Beatriz Gago (infants girls – Clube Naval de Portimão ).
After the 2nd PAR, the CIMAV organizes the weekend after, between 9 and 11 of February, the 39th International Carnival Sailing Tournament, for Dinghy Sailing (Optimist and Laser). Portuguese Sailing Federation joined at the same spot, the same dates the Portuguese Championship for Olympic Classes. A weekend of authentic luxury sailing in Vilamoura.
In the third weekend of February, days 16 and 17, the CIMAV organizes the Vilamoura Cup for Class Cruise, boats over six meters, capable of challenging the horizon.
