The South Regional Surf Circuit 2015 begins in Praia da Rocha, Portimão, on the weekend January 31st February 1st. The circuit will have four events and will qualify up to Under-18 athletes for the National Youth Circuit, in a new model of regional qualifying series the Portuguese Surf Federation is presenting for this season. Besides the official youth age groups competitions, the event will also have Open and Longboard extra official competition with top national surfers.

Starting this year, the six Portugueses regional surf circuits will qualify athletes for the national circuit in the following age groups: Under-12, Under-14, Under-16, Under-18, Girls Under-16 and Girls Under-18. The best regional surfers in each age group will qualify to a final national Youth event to decide the Portuguese national champion titles.

The young guns from the Algarve will all be in Rocha Beach for the first South Regional event. Not competing for the Youth qualifier, the event will also stage some of the best Portuguese surfers in the Open and Longboard groups. A great show on the beach, perhaps too windy on saturday but expecting a perfect day with good swell for sunday.
