Sixteen athletes and coaches from sea in Vila do Bispo municipality, highlighting the ‘Associação de Bodyboard de Sagres’ the ‘Algarve Surf Clube’, honoured with merit diplomas in the Sports Gala held during the 3rd Associations Fair of Vila do Bispo, in the Barão de São Miguel Ballroom. The gala, held last night, Saturday, January 24th, honoured a total of 32 athletes, five coaches and five local clubs for sports achievements in 2014.
The ‘Associação de Bodyboard de Sagres’ and the ‘Algarve Surf Clube’ were awarded merit certificates to the clubs in addition to those received by coaches and athletes.
The ‘Associação de Bodyboard de Sagres’ was the more honoured club in the gala. In addition to the diploma awarded to the club coach, Francisco Pinheiro, were also distinguished 9 athletes of the club, especially Joana Schenker, to whom the local authority recognised a degree of High Sports Merit for having won in 2014 the Portuguese national and the European Champion titles.
The ‘Algarve Surf Clube’ also received an award for coach Sergio Wu Brandao, and smerit diplomas for four athletes, for good results achieved at regional and national level during last year’s season.
