O atleta algarvio Luís Esteves, do Clube de Surf de Faro, viaja amanhã para o Peru, onde vai disputar o Huanchaco Longboard Pro 2014, prova de abertura do calendário ASP América do Sul, pontuável para o Mundial das ‘pranchas grandes’. O ‘longboarder’ farense, vice-campeão nacional 2013, viaja acompanhado por Luís Bento (Lufi) e por mais dois amigos brasileiros, todos inscritos para o evento no Norte do Peru, que vai decorrer de 12 a 14 deste mês.
“Vai ser bom para ganhar ritmo e experiência. O nível lá fora é completamente diferente”, disse Luís Esteves ao Swell-Algarve. Recorde-se que no passado domingo, o atleta farense venceu a 2ª Etapa do Circuito de Surf do Algarve 2014 em Longboard, na Praia da Falésia, repetindo a vitória conquistada em Faro na 1ª Etapa.
Luís Esteves sagrou-se vice-campeão nacional de Longboard em 2013, terminando o circuito nacional a escassos 170 pontos do campeão. No ano passado, Luís Esteves foi ainda campeão do circuito inter-clubes Rebel Longboard Tour e campeão em Longboard do Circuito de Surf do Algarve 2013.

LUIS ESTEVES IN THE HUANCHACO PRO
Luís Esteves from the Algarve, representing ‘Clube de Surf de Faro’ will be traveling tomorrow to Peru for the Huanchaco Longboard Pro 2014, first ASP South America event giving points for the world ranking. The athlete from Faro will be traveling with fellow Portuguese Luís Bento (Lufi) and two brazilians friends will join them to compete in the event in North Peru, from 12th to 14th this month.
“It will be good to gain rhythm and experience. The international level of competition is completely different from what we have here in Portugal”, said Luís Esteves to Swell-Algarve.
Luís Esteves was runner up National Portuguese Longboard Champion in 2013, Longboard Champion of the Algarve Surf Circuit 2013 and Champion of the inter-clubs Portuguese national circuit Rebel Longboard Tour 2013. He is a very talented longboarder having one the two first events of the Algarve Surf Circuit 2014 in Longboard.
