Três jovens estudantes de Portimão integram a Selecção do Algarve que vai disputar a final nacional de surf do Desporto Escolar 2012/13, no fim-de-semana 25 e 26 de Maio, em Peniche. A armada portimonense é liderada por Martim Magalhães, vencedor de dois dos três encontros regionais de surf do Desporto Escolar.
Além dos três atletas de Portimão e mais um de Lagoa que vão competir na categoria Surf Open , a equipa algarvia integra ainda mais dois atletas de Aljezur para a categoria Bodyboard. Os encontros de Surf do Desporto Escolar 2012/13 no Algarve foram disputados em três zonas: Quarteira, Portimão e Aljezur. Martim Magalhães venceu as duas primeiras provas – Quarteira e Portimão – e faltou à terceira – Arrifana (Aljezur) – devido a compromissos escolares.

A terceira prova do surf escolar deste ano no Algarve foi disputada na passada terça-feira, dia 21 de Maio, na Praia da Arrifana Aljezur. A prova foi ganha por Ricardo Augusto Batista (‘Ricky’), também elemento da selecção regional que vai disputar a final nacional em Peniche. O Swell-Algarve faz votos de sucesso para os jovens surfistas algarvios.

PORTIMÃO AT THE HEART OF TEAM ALGARVE
Three young students from Portimão are in the Algarve Team that will compete in the Portuguese national surf final of Inter School Sports 2012/13 in Peniche, on the weekend of 25th and 26th of May. The team is led by Martim Magalhães from Portimão, winner of two of the three regional inter schools surf meetings.
Besides the three athletes from Portimão and another from Lagoa that will compete in the Surf Open, the Algarve Team also includes two athletes from Aljezur to compete in Bodyboard. The surf meetings of Inter School Sports 2012/13 were played in the Algarve in three areas: Quarteira, Portimão and Aljezur. Martim Magalhães won the first two meetings – Quarteira and Portimao – and missed the third – Arrifana (Aljezur) – due to school commitments.
The third inter schools surf meeting in the Algarve was held in Praia da Arrifana (Aljezur), last Tuesday 21st May. The meeting was won by Ricardo Augusto Batista (‘Ricky’), also member of the regional team that will compete in the national final in Peniche. Swell-Algarve whishes all the best for the young surfers from Algarve.
