Beatriz Cintra (Clube Naval de Portimão) venceu em Optimist Infantis a 2ª Prova do Campeonato do Algarve de Vela Ligeira 2013/2014, disputada no fim-de-semana 23 e 24 de Novembro, na Ria Formosa, com organização do Ginásio Clube Naval de Faro e da Associação Regional de Vela do Sul. A jovem velejadora de Portimão está a ter um arranque de época verdadeiramente dominador, somando três importantes vitórias no espaço de um mês.
A 2ª Prova do Campeonato do Algarve de Vela Ligeira 2013/2014 foi disputado, em Faro, por 99 embarcações, para um total de 104 velejadores em representação de 8 clubes. Atletas, treinadores e familiares resistiram ao frio e à chuva que complicaram o primeiro dia de prova, sábado, e demonstraram que a Vela algarvia respira saúde e entusiasmo. Durante os dois dias realizaram-se 6 regatas para as classes Optimist Infantis, Laser 4.7, Laser Radial e Laser 420; e 5 regatas para a classe Optimist Juvenis.

Beatriz Cintra obteve uma vitória categórica em Optimist Infantis com duas vitórias e dois terceiros lugares nas seis regatas disputadas. A velejadora do CNPortimão repetiu a vitória alcançada na 1ª Prova deste campeonato, disputada no fim-de-semana 26 e 27 de Outubro, em Lagos, e apenas 3 semanas depois de ter ganho o Meeting Internacional de Optimist, no seu escalão etário, em Vigo, Espanha. William Risselin (GCNFaro) ainda venceu a 4ª e a 5ª regatas em Optimist Infantis, mas não teve consistência nas restantes para ameaçar o domínio de Beatriz e ficou-se pelo 4º lugar na classificação final. É de salientar que o pódio nesta classe foi preenchido totalmente por competidoras femininas: Beatriz Cintra (1ª), Raquel Rodrigues (2ª) e Viktoria Kononova (3ª).
Em Optimist Juvenis, Inês Caneco (Clube de Vela de Lagos) não conseguiu repetir a exibição que lhe deu a vitória na sua estreia nesta classe, na 1ª Prova em Lagos. Em Faro, Inês Caneco foi 23ª nesta classe, cuja vitória foi bastante discutida. Tomás Guerreiro (Associação Naval do Guadiana) venceu esta 2ª Prova em Optimist Juvenis e assumiu a liderança do campeonato nesta classe, após o 2º lugar na 1ª Prova.
Gustavo Calado (Grupo Naval de Olhão) venceu esta 2ª Prova em Laser 4.7, com Francisco Farinha (CNPortimão) e David Coutinho (GNOlhão) a repetir – mas em posições trocadas – as presenças no pódio alcançadas na 1ª Prova em Lagos. Ricardo Terra (CNPortimão) foi 6º em Faro, bem distante do 1º lugar alcançado em Lagos.
Pedro Costa (CVLagos) isolou-se no comando do campeonato na classe Laser Radial, ao repetir em Faro a vitória alcançada em Lagos e com os seus mais directos adversários da 1ª Prova a não conseguir chegar ao pódio nesta 2ª Prova.
Em Laser 420, o Clube Naval de Portimão sacudiu o domínio demonstrado pelas duplas do Clube Náutico de Tavira na 1ª Prova. Em Faro, o CNPortimão alcançou uma dobradinha, com duas duplas nos dois primeiros lugares, destacando-se os vencedores – a dupla Pedro Roque & Emanuel Duarte – com um domínio absoluto: quatro vitórias em seis regatas.
A 3ª Prova do Campeonato do Algarve de Vela Ligeira 2013-2014 está marcada para os dias 22 e 23 de Fevereiro do próximo ano, em Vilamoura.

BEATRIZ CINTRA DOMINATES
Beatriz Cintra ( ‘Clube Naval de Portimão’ ) won in Optimist ‘Infantis’ the 2nd Event of the Algarve Dinghy Championship 2013/2014, held in the Ria Formosa, during the weekend 23th and 24th November, organised by the ‘Ginásio Clube Naval de Faro’ and the Regional Sailing Association ARVSul. Beatriz Cintra has been truly dominant in this start of the season, adding three important victories in one month.
The 2nd Event of the Algarve Dinghy Championship 2013/2014 was disputed in Faro by 99 boats for a total of 104 sailors representing 8 clubs. Athletes , coaches and family withstood the cold and rain that complicated the first day of competition, Saturday, and showed that the Algarve Sailing breathes health and enthusiasm. During the two days were held 6 regattas for Optimist ‘Infantis’, Laser 4.7, Laser Radial and Laser 420 classes and 5 regattas for the Class Optimist ‘Juvenis’.
Beatriz Cintra won an outright victory in Optimist ‘Infantis’ with two wins and two third places in the six contested regattas. The sailor representing CNPortimão repeated the victory in 1st Event of this championship, held in Lagos on the weekend 26th and 27th October, and only three weeks after she had won the International Optimist Meeting in Vigo, Spain. William Risselin ( GCNFaro ) still won the 4th and 5th regattas Optimist ‘Infantis’, but had no consistency in the others to threaten the dominance of Beatriz and finished 4th. It should be noted that this class podium was filled by girls competitors: Beatriz Cintra (1st) , Raquel Rodrigues ( 2nd ) and Viktoria Kononova ( 3rd ) .
In Optimist ‘Juvenis’, Inês Caneco ( ‘Clube de Vela de Lagos’ ) was not able to repeat the show that gave her victory on his debut in this class, in the 1st Event in Lagos. In Faro, Inês Caneco was 23th in this class, whose victory was widely discussed. Tomás Guerreiro ( ‘Associação Naval do Guadiana’ ) won this 2nd Event in Optimist ‘Juvenis’ and took the championship lead in this class after his 2nd place in the 1st Event.
Gustavo Calado ( ‘Grupo Naval de Olhão’ ) won this 2nd Event in Laser 4.7 with Francisco Farinha ( ‘CNPortimão’ ) and David Coutinho ( ‘GNOlhão’ ) repeating – but trading places – their presence on the podium achieved in the 1st Event in Lagos. Ricardo Terra ( ‘CNPortimão’ ) was 6th in Faro, way far from the the 1st place he won in Lagos.
Pedro Costa ( ‘CVLagos’ ) isolated himself in the lead of the championship in the Laser Radial class by repeating in Faro the victory achieved in Lagos and with his direct opponents in the 1st Event failing to reach the podium in this 2nd Event.
In Laser 420 , the ‘Clube Naval de Portimão’ shook the dominium shown by the doubles of the ‘Club Náutico de Tavira’ in the 1st Event. In Faro, ‘CNPortimão’ achieved a one-two with two doubles in the first two places, highlighting the winners – the dual Pedro Roque & Emanuel Duarte – for their absolute domain: four wins in six regattas.
The 3rd Event of the Algarve Dinghy Championship 2013/2014 is scheduled for 22nd and 23rd February next year, in Vilamoura.
